FAQ
How will I get notified if my child has made the team?
- After tryouts, all athlete’s will receive an email regarding their player status. Selected player’s will be given 48 hours to accept or decline their offer.
How long do the seasons typically last?
- Seasons are scheduled around the respective school schedules if possible. Typically each season (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) last 9-10 weeks.
Are the tournaments and practice schedules set in advance?
- We try to set the schedules in advance so that families can prepare for travel dates, carpools, etc. However, we are beholden to gym availability and various school events like CCS playoffs, high school summer leagues, or Washington DC trips for our 8th graders.
How much do the seasons cost?
- Grade school teams (3rd-5th grade) $800 per season. Middle school teams (6th-8th) $1000. High school teams (9th-12th) $1400. Prices do not include travel expenses or uniforms. In some cases, partial scholarships maybe available.
What do my registration fees cover?
- Registration fees cover entry fees for 5 or more tournaments during the season, 2 practices a week, and additional expenses such as stipends and travel expenses for our coaches.
Which team will my child tryout for?
- Athlete’s will tryout for their current school grade. Typically Labor Day (or September 1st for some tournament organizers) mark the start of players moving up in age. Coaches can always decide to play their teams up in age if they feel it is an appropriate adjustment for competition.
What does “travel” consist of for the various age groups?
- Our development teams typically play smaller, local tournaments and may consist of one out of town event. For example the younger teams will often attend the Jam On It Reno tournament at the end of their spring season on Memorial Day weekend.
- Our competitive teams will usually play in local tune-up tournaments in the greater Bay Area and could possibly have 1-2 overnight tournaments in Sacramento or Los Angeles.
- Our Adidas 3 Stripes GOLD circuit teams (15u, 16u, 17u only) are required to commit to a more rigorous schedule. Their schedules are built around the mandatory Adidas sessions and live viewing period dates, to give our athletes maximum exposure to the toughest competition and the opportunity to play in front of college coaches. These tournaments are located in Northern and Southern California, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, and South Carolina.
